About the Role
The individual in this role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring security measures for cloud-based systems, supporting compliance initiatives, and collaborating with engineering teams to integrate security into cloud deployments.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy security controls across public cloud platforms
- Monitor cloud environments for security threats and anomalies
- Support incident response activities related to cloud infrastructure
- Evaluate and enforce compliance with security policies and standards
- Collaborate with development and operations teams on secure configurations
- Conduct vulnerability assessments specific to cloud services
- Implement identity and access management best practices
- Manage encryption and key management solutions in the cloud
- Assist in audits and regulatory reviews involving cloud systems
- Develop automation scripts to enhance security monitoring and response
- Maintain documentation for security architectures and controls
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats and technologies
- Participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Support secure integration of third-party cloud applications
- Ensure network security configurations align with organizational policies
- Guide teams on secure cloud migration practices
- Troubleshoot security issues in cloud-hosted environments
- Promote a culture of security awareness across technical teams
- Work with vendors to assess cloud service security posture
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Enforce configuration baselines for cloud resources
- Perform regular security reviews of infrastructure as code templates
- Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
- Support zero trust architecture initiatives in cloud environments
- Coordinate with legal and compliance on data protection requirements
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in cybersecurity or a related technical discipline
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools
- Experience in a highly regulated industry
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations
- Familiarity with SaaS security management
- Experience with cloud-native logging and monitoring platforms
- Background in penetration testing or red teaming
- Understanding of supply chain risk management
- Prior work in a global organization with distributed teams
