Uniper is seeking a Cloud Platforms Working Student to join our Cloud Engineering team in Düsseldorf. In this role, you'll support the implementation and operation of our cloud observability and monitoring capabilities on the Azure platform, helping ensure the health, performance, and reliability of our cloud resources.
What You'll Do
- Assist in configuring and maintaining Azure Monitor components, including Log Analytics workspaces, dashboards (Workbooks), Application Insights, and alerting rules.
- Support the implementation of our cloud observability concept by instrumenting metrics, logs, and traces across Azure services for consistent collection and visualization.
- Translate questions about resource health, performance, and cost into KQL queries, actionable dashboards, and alerting playbooks.
- Maintain clear documentation for telemetry standards, alert tuning, and troubleshooting procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a German university in computer science, information management, cloud engineering, or a similar field.
- Basic understanding of cloud monitoring concepts and an interest in working with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear documentation or simple dashboards and queries.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn Azure monitoring tools, KQL, and observability practices.
- Ability to work independently in a home office setting.
- Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Basic knowledge of other monitoring or observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
- Familiarity with KQL (Kusto Query Language) for data analysis in Log Analytics.
- Availability for at least 6 months; ideally 12 months or longer.
