Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of core systems from on-premise environments to AWS, assuming full operational control
- Manage production AWS environments with responsibility for availability, reliability, and adherence to operational benchmarks
- Take ownership of infrastructure delivered by DevOps, ensuring operational documentation, processes, and support frameworks are established
- Retire outdated tools and systems once migration phases are successfully completed
- Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols for cloud-based workloads
- Develop and update runbooks and standard operating procedures for all live infrastructure
- Lead ongoing enhancements by identifying and addressing issues related to system reliability, performance, and efficiency
- Improve cloud cost efficiency through instance optimization, reserved capacity planning, and granular cost tracking by product or client
- Collaborate with the Chief Architect on security controls including identity management, network isolation, data encryption, and regulatory compliance for financial sector clients
- Partner closely with DevOps teams on infrastructure specifications and transition processes
- Assist product teams with cloud architecture advice and the setup of required environments
