About the Role

Accenture Federal Services (AFS IT) is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team. You will be passionate about cloud technologies and committed to delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient cloud operations. This role supports core infrastructure engineering while contributing to the ongoing improvement of cloud environments.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute as a member of the AFS IT Cloud Engineering team, handling foundational cloud tasks and taking on moderately complex work as your skills develop.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies like backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support cloud resource provisioning using Infrastructure as Code across multi-cloud environments, primarily Azure.
  • Follow NIST 800‑171 security standards and ensure compliance in day‑to‑day cloud operations.
  • Assist in deploying and supporting cloud‑native components, including Availability Zones, storage services, serverless functions, containers, backups, and patching.
  • Collaborate with experienced team members and cross-functional partners to improve cloud solutions and deliver reliable services.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively in team settings.
  • Participate in workstreams and provide updates on task progress and deliverables.
  • Support both engineering tasks from the Agile board and operational work from the ticketing queue.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and bring forward ideas that improve team practices.

What We're Looking For

  • U.S. Citizen located on U.S. soil (mandatory).
  • Experience managing cloud platforms (Azure required).
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and collaborate effectively.
  • Cloud certification (Azure Foundations required).
  • Ability to be on-call as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS/GCP.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher.
