Responsibilities
- Develop features for the flea market app 'Mercari'
- Develop features for the smartphone payment service 'Merpay'
- Develop features for the cryptocurrency/blockchain service 'Mercoin'
- Join a team of software engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise
- Take on responsibilities as a team member
- Involved in projects aimed at improving user experience (UX) and specifications from customer's perspective
- Engage with technology and data firsthand and produce tangible outputs
- Present work and actual results at a final report meeting
- Work to develop actual features integrated into the app
- Work to improve the operation of the app
Requirements
- Interest in management and building an engineering organization as a leader candidate (CTO, VPoE, etc.)
- Ability to express what they want to do through output and co-create with teams and organizations
- Enjoy change and can boldly take on challenges even in unfamiliar areas or difficult situations

- Students aged 16 or older who are expected to join as new graduates in October 2027 or April 2028
- Interest in joining as a software engineer after completing the internship

- Experience using various Mercari services (for residents in Japan only)
- Experience in delivering results through projects utilizing latest AI technologies and tools
- Basic knowledge of RDBMS and SQL
- Experience developing/operating products
- Practical or research-level development experience in at least one of: Backend (Go, PHP, Java), Frontend (JavaScript, React), Mobile (iOS: Swift, Android: Kotlin), Machine Learning (ML modeling or ML systems), Platform Engineering (Go, Kubernetes), Site Reliability Engineering (Go, Kubernetes, Terraform), Data Engineer (Python, SQL), Security Engineer (Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript)
