International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is hiring a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide safe anesthesia and pain management for surgical patients in Iraq. In this role, you will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary surgical team to deliver care before, during, and after operations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative evaluations to assess patient medical history, physical condition, and anesthesia risks.
- Review laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic information to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
- Administer various forms of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
- Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and anesthesia depth during procedures.
- Manage airway and respiratory support as necessary throughout the surgical process.
- Provide care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit, monitoring patients’ recovery.
- Assess and manage any immediate postoperative complications or side effects related to anesthesia.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of anesthesia equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted CRNA license in any US State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- BE/BC by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 3+ years experience as a CRNA, including 18 months within the last year.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card.
- Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT.
- Ability to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- Ability to meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time and may require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Nice to Have
- Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor.
- Current security clearance.
