Responsibilities
- Evaluates health record documentation to confirm it sufficiently supports all diagnoses and procedures linked to assigned codes
- Utilizes expertise in anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes
- Stays current with ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems and updates
- Conducts data entry for charges in both hospital and physician patient accounting systems for outpatient clinic visits
- Manages daily workflow to ensure all assigned tasks are reviewed and prioritized effectively
- Completes additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors
