Sartorius is hiring a Business Development Manager for Northern Europe to spearhead strategic growth in the biopharma and biotech sectors. In this remote role, you will build our presence by identifying untapped opportunities, forging key partnerships, and accelerating market adoption in emerging segments and academic networks.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate market potential and map the Northern European biotech ecosystem to identify key opportunities in biopharma, advanced therapies, and academia.
- Develop and implement tailored business development strategies to acquire new customers and grow our presence in underdeveloped or emerging markets.
- Reach out to potential customers through various prospecting efforts, including emails, calls, visits, conferences, and demonstrations.
- Establish and nurture strategic relationships with academia, research institutes, biotech start-ups, and industry stakeholders to accelerate technology adoption.
- Qualify and prioritize leads based on needs and fit, presenting our value proposition.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and support business initiatives, including negotiating contracts to close deals and achieve revenue goals.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with current and potential customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify and collaborate with local key opinion leaders, industry associations, and ecosystem partners to strengthen our visibility and credibility.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to track business development activities and improve best practices.
- Actively use SFDC to manage and document leads, contacts, opportunities, and all customer interactions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regional regulatory frameworks.
What We're Looking For
- An academic degree in life sciences, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in business development, sales, or field marketing within the life science or biopharma sector.
- A good network and strong understanding of the Northern European market landscape, including academia and biotech start-ups.
- Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques and a focused interest in developing markets and technologies.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to independently lead projects.
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment.
- Proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time within the region.
Nice to Have
- Lab experience is preferable.
- Knowledge of additional Northern European languages is a plus.
