Forest Stewards Guild is hiring a Business Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational, HR, and administrative assistance to support internal functions
  • Support a nonprofit operating across multiple state regions
  • Enhance the efficiency and scalability of the business operations team as the organization grows
  • Assist with accounts payable tasks, including employee expense reports and reimbursement processing
  • Help staff with insurance-related documentation for program participation
  • Facilitate state compliance activities, including business license registration and reporting in new jurisdictions
  • Provide planning and logistical coordination for organizational events, including major milestones such as the 2026 30th-anniversary gathering
  • Process donations and membership payments, and generate financial reports for external accountants
  • Offer consistent administrative and communication support across geographically dispersed teams and departments
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management
  • Monitor updates to labor regulations in states where staff are employed, and communicate changes to employees through official notices and internal updates
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation for new hires, especially seasonal field crews in eastern regions
  • Support annual Workers’ Compensation audits with documentation and data preparation
