Join Cushman & Wakefield Global, Inc as a Building Engineer responsible for assisting with the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of commercial buildings, industrial systems, grounds, and equipment. You will play a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of assigned properties.
What You'll Do
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of building systems to include HVAC, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, and packaging machinery.
- Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical devices.
- Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, and painted surfaces.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and assigned customer service requests.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions and perform preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarms and pumps.
- Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety directives.
- Complete all required C&W Safety Training annually.
- Adhere to the C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a professional appearance.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) with a good driving record.
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Nice to Have
- Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
Team & Environment
You may be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts, requiring strong independent problem-solving skills.
