About the Role

The role involves conducting technical evaluations of building enclosures and systems, supporting clients with forensic investigations, and delivering data-driven solutions for performance, durability, and compliance concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect building envelopes and structural components for defects and deterioration
  • Conduct site assessments to identify water intrusion, moisture damage, or material failure
  • Evaluate compliance with building codes, standards, and design specifications
  • Support forensic investigations by analyzing root causes of building system failures
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and legal teams on complex cases
  • Assist in litigation support through expert analysis and testimony preparation
  • Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to approved plans
  • Identify risks related to building materials, workmanship, and environmental exposure
  • Recommend repair strategies and remediation measures
  • Use diagnostic tools and testing methods to assess building performance
  • Gather and analyze field data to support technical opinions
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all project activities
  • Stay current with industry standards, building science advancements, and regulations
  • Provide guidance on building envelope design and system integration
  • Assist in developing scopes of work for corrective actions
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Support project management activities for consulting assignments
  • Work on diverse property types including commercial, residential, and institutional buildings
