The BPA Administrator plays a key role in supporting the administration of Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) policies and defined benefit pension schemes within the Commercial function. This position ensures precise and compliant handling of member benefits, data integrity, and regulatory requirements across all operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process transfer values, retirement benefits, and death benefits in accordance with policy terms, scheme rules, and pensions legislation.
- Support trivial commutation, payment processing, and pension increase calculations.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate member records, including conducting existence checks and tracing missing individuals.
- Produce correspondence for policyholders and members, and assist with onboarding new pension schemes.
- Contribute to buy-in and buyout operations, reporting tasks, and benefit statement production.
- Engage with stakeholders including trustees and policyholders, delivering clear and empathetic communication, particularly when supporting vulnerable customers.
- Support governance processes through participation in meetings and preparation of reports, ensuring alignment with FCA Consumer Duty principles.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will demonstrate a solid understanding of BPA and defined benefit pension administration, along with familiarity with pensions legislation, including Irish pensions law. Strong numerical and organisational abilities are essential, with the capacity to manage workloads independently or as part of a team. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, along with experience using automated administration systems.
Effective communication skills are important for interacting with internal and external parties. The role operates under a hybrid model, with 50% of time based at Alderley Park and the remainder remote.
