Addepar is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our Portfolio Data Workflows UK team. You will be at the forefront of maintaining and evolving critical API services that power our financial data ecosystem, while helping to modernize our architecture to support expansion into European markets. This position offers exceptional scope for technical leadership in transforming how our global clients interact with financial data.
What You'll Do
- Build and scale API services to support our rapidly growing European customer base.
- Advance our financial models to support a wide range of advanced financial products, such as structured notes, derivatives, and international alternative investments.
- Contribute to architecture designs, product roadmap, and code reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
- Be part of an expanding cross-functional organization in our growing Edinburgh office.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Prior experience building backend services in a professional environment.
- Experience building services with Java is a must-have for the role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment.
- An understanding of development best practices and experience working in an agile team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, or JavaScript.
- Interest or experience in the financial industry or wealth management.
