We're looking for an experienced Senior or Lead Backend Magento Developer to help shape the future of our e-commerce projects. Based in SW London, you'll play a central role in designing and delivering robust, high-performance online stores using Magento CE and EE, both in legacy versions and Magento 2.
What You'll Do
You'll work hand-in-hand with frontend developers, project leads, and marketing specialists to turn client concepts into fully functional digital experiences. Your responsibilities will include building clean, maintainable modules, solving complex technical challenges, and guiding the architecture of scalable solutions. You’ll apply modern development practices to create responsive, feature-complete websites that meet both user and business needs.
- Develop custom, standards-compliant modules for Magento platforms
- Lead technical decision-making and system design
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated digital products
- Apply advanced techniques to improve performance, usability, and maintainability
What We're Looking For
You bring at least four years of professional Magento experience, with a strong background in PHP-based e-commerce systems. You're comfortable working on live, high-traffic websites and have hands-on experience with JavaScript, including jQuery and Prototype. Your work reflects a commitment to quality, scalability, and clean code.
Preferred Background
- Magento certification
- Experience with WordPress or other PHP frameworks
- Agency environment experience
- Team leadership or remote team coordination
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Involvement in post-launch support and client-facing technical management
- Basic project management skills such as estimating, planning, and resource coordination
