Escape Velocity Entertainment Inc is looking for a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the high-performance, reliable, and scalable backend infrastructure for a game project. You will be a key contributor in building the online foundation that supports our players globally.

What You'll Do

Design and coordinate the implementation of a new high performance, reliable, and scalable backend infrastructure.
Collaborate with other developers to integrate online backend features directly into the game.
Work with proprietary existing software and build new technology to meet the project's technical needs.
Identify technical risks and development obstacles, generating solutions to overcome them.
Provide feedback to leads regarding time estimates for assigned tasks.

What We're Looking For

2+ years designing robust, high-performance scalable systems, OR solid experience with C++.
Experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Unix-like operating systems.
Commitment to code quality, documentation, and sound testing procedures.
Ability to learn and master new technologies and codebases.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines.
Realtime multiplayer peer-to-peer or client-server experience.
Shipped one or more game titles.

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of both backend and game-side programming languages.
Experience developing for game consoles.
