Ordaos is hiring a Backend Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will design and implement changes to our AI platform's infrastructure to support new experiments and end-user requirements. You'll work directly with backend engineers, AI Scientists, DevOps Engineers, and end users.
What You'll Do
- Design efficient data structures to hold inputs, intermediate results, and outputs from machine learning algorithms.
- Implement changes and extensions to the system as required by ML models and end-user requests.
- Interact with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate needs into functional code.
- Interface with multiple databases.
- Work with AI Scientists to implement and productionalize ML-powered features.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure code ships quickly and the system works reliably.
- Continually monitor and improve the health of the code base.
What We're Looking For
- A BA or Masters in computer science.
- Excellent Python programming skills demonstrated through developing complex FastAPI or Celery-based web applications.
- Proven ability to leverage AI-native development tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or the OpenAI API to increase coding speed and quality.
- Experience building and scaling applications that rely on cloud services.
- Strong knowledge of common data structures and algorithms.
- Capability to design, implement, and debug object-oriented Python code.
- Experience writing maintainable Python code for a large-scale code base.
- Capability to interface with SQL databases through SQLAlchemy and SQL directly.
- Strong knowledge of Linux.
- Familiarity with git.
- Experience using third-party libraries and APIs.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Redis.
- Experience with Celery.
- Experience with the Python Kubernetes API.
