Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Backend Engineer II to join our Global Backend team. You will develop and maintain the core systems that support our energy technology platform across multiple international markets.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and scale backend services for global energy operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and performant systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments
- Contribute to architectural decisions and system improvements
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building and operating backend systems in production
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language
- Understanding of database design, APIs, and distributed systems concepts
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Mode
This position follows a hybrid work model with workdays split between our London office and remote work.
