Optum Tech (UnitedHealth Group) is seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and maintain our cloud infrastructure and platform services. You will apply modern practices like Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps on Azure to support our mission of helping people live healthier lives.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain Azure resources using modern Infrastructure-as-Code tooling like Terraform and Ansible
- Build and maintain pipelines and automation through GitOps using GitHub Actions and JPAC
- Create and own platform-level services on top of Kubernetes platforms like AKS and Azure Container Apps
- Develop automation scripts by submitting PRs and participating in code reviews on GitHub
- Build monitoring and alerting templates for cloud metrics using tools like Splunk, Datadog, and Azure App Insights
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation
- Work with less structured, more complex issues
- Serve as a technical resource to others
What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years defining, designing, and implementing CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- 3+ years of experience with Docker and containerization
- 3+ years building and troubleshooting cloud networks
- 2+ years of experience with Terraform
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus
- Experience with advanced scripting
- Expertise in identifying and mitigating infrastructure security vulnerabilities
- Expertise in managing cost-optimized infrastructure setups
- Expertise in setting monitors and alerts to achieve high availability and reliability standards
- Solid knowledge in Azure networking, including configuring virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
- Proven team player attitude and willingness to collaborate
