Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring an Azure Data Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain advanced data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into scalable pipelines, robust storage systems, and efficient integration processes.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, reliable data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to gather, analyze, and refine data requirements.
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources while ensuring integrity and reliability.
- Perform data integration, transformation, and quality checks to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Implement secure data storage and retrieval mechanisms with services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Blob Storage.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for smooth operations.
- Apply data governance best practices to ensure compliance, privacy, and accuracy.
- Support analysts and data scientists with high-quality datasets for data-driven insights.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience with Big Data technologies.
- Proven expertise in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and its data services.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in SQL-based database systems.
- Experience in both batch and streaming data processing.
- Hands-on proficiency in frameworks and services such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, and CosmosDB.
- Real-world experience with Azure Databricks and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of data engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Python or Scala programming.
Nice to Have
- Azure-related certifications are an advantage.
