About the Role

Responsibilities include safety concept development, compliance with ISO 26262, and collaboration across engineering teams to integrate safety mechanisms into silicon and software.
Responsibilities
- Lead functional safety activities for automotive SoC and AI silicon development
- Define safety goals and develop safety concepts aligned with ISO 26262
- Create and maintain functional safety requirements throughout product lifecycle
- Perform hazard analysis and risk assessment for automotive use cases
- Develop FMEDA reports and support quantitative safety metrics derivation
- Collaborate with design teams to integrate safety mechanisms into hardware and software
- Support development of safety manuals and documentation for customer delivery
- Guide integration of diagnostic features in AI accelerator blocks
- Work with verification teams to ensure safety requirements are validated
- Lead safety audits and reviews across development phases
- Interface with external assessors and certification bodies
- Ensure compliance with ASIL levels across system components
- Develop safety case arguments for complex silicon subsystems
- Contribute to DFMEA and SFMEA processes
- Support tool qualification for safety-critical workflows
- Define safety workflows for agile silicon development
- Assist in partitioning safety responsibilities between hardware and software
- Evaluate third-party IP for functional safety compliance
- Maintain safety work products according to work package plans
- Support root cause analysis for safety-related issues
- Drive continuous improvement in safety processes
- Mentor team members on functional safety best practices
- Stay current with evolving automotive safety standards
- Contribute to safety planning for multi-chip and system-level integration
- Support customer engagement on safety-related technical inquiries
