About the Role
The position involves building and supporting automation systems that enhance operational performance in industrial settings, ensuring robust, scalable, and safe implementations through close collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy automation solutions for manufacturing and production environments
- Design control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and industrial networks into functional systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing automation infrastructure
- Create technical documentation for system designs and configurations
- Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards
- Optimize system performance through data analysis and feedback loops
- Support commissioning and validation of new automation projects
- Maintain version control for automation code and configurations
- Work closely with operations personnel to understand process needs
- Implement human-machine interface (HMI) applications for operator control
- Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and EtherNet/IP
- Perform risk assessments for control system modifications
- Lead root cause analysis for system failures
- Assist in the selection of automation components and subsystems
- Develop testing procedures for new automation features
- Monitor system uptime and reliability metrics
- Provide training to technical staff on automation tools
- Stay current with advancements in industrial automation technologies
