Boeing Australia is looking for an Associate Software Engineer - iOS to join Boeing Global Services. In this role, you will develop software applications and products that create direct value for customers, contributing to innovative solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
What You'll Do
- Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software product designs.
- Develop, document, and maintain software components, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
- Work with senior engineers to understand design constraints and implement solutions aligned with system architecture.
- Research and implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes.
- Establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics.
- Lead collaboration with the penetration testing team to ensure thorough security assessments and address vulnerabilities.
- Assist in evaluating implementation approaches and technical solutions.
- Implement strategies to optimize product implementation, enhancing efficiency, stability, and availability.
- Evaluate products for integration into delivery system environments.
- Draft data and information management products and service standards.
- Understand the impact of implementation decisions on application performance and maintainability.
- Contribute to implementing application features and improvements following established architecture and coding standards.
- Collaborate with team members and support implementation tasks across the iOS codebase.
- Collaborate with international teams, promoting knowledge sharing and competency development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology), Computer Science, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work.
- Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI with a deep understanding of iOS frameworks and APIs.
- Experience developing mobile applications and integrating with backend or cloud services.
- Experience with architectural patterns such as MVC, MVVM, or VIPER.
- Strong understanding of mobile application design principles and user experience best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Background or experience in the aviation domain or other related field.
- Familiarity with AI/ML.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, full-stack development, microservice patterns, API integration, and programming languages.
- Experience in developing applications for airline operations, specifically for EFB administrators and flight crews.
- Cloud certification (preferably Azure).
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education and typically 4–8 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination.
