Unknown Company is hiring an Associate Director CDM Charge Description Master

About the Role

Banner Health is looking for an Associate Director of CDM Charge Description Master to oversee the accuracy and regulatory compliance of the hospital Chargemaster. This role ensures the CDM correctly represents services provided and adheres to all coding and billing regulations, acting as a key liaison between Finance and facility departments.

What You'll Do

  • Hold staff accountable for achieving goals and performance targets while supporting their professional development.
  • Act as a resource to the CDM Consultant team in researching and resolving requests promptly.
  • Train and develop consultants to maximize available tools for chargemaster compliance.
  • Coordinate the daily CDM maintenance workflow and monitor facility alignment to the standard CDM.
  • Document all policies and procedures regarding CDM maintenance and charge processes.
  • Train CDM consultants to evaluate department charge processes to improve charge capture and coding compliance.
  • Coordinate with facility departments, IT, clinical informatics, and integration personnel on technology projects impacting charge entry, charge dictionaries, and charge interfaces.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with five to seven years of healthcare experience in patient accounting, billing, collections, reimbursement, and compliance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Hospital Chargemaster experience, including the use of CDM Maintenance software (e.g., Craneware, nThrive, Vital Ware).
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04) and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology.
  • Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of government and third-party payer reimbursement methodology.
  • 2-3 years of Leadership experience.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • HFMA certification, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT credentials.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.

Team & Environment

This position manages eight CDM Consultants and reports directly to the Director of CDM Services.
