The Pennsylvania State University is hiring an Assistant Research Professor in Aerospace Engineering to advance research in aeroacoustics, aerodynamics, and flight simulation. You will focus on applications for helicopters, drones, and advanced air mobility aircraft, contributing to a culture of research excellence and collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Conduct innovative, independent research in aeroacoustics, aerodynamics, and flight simulation.
- Mentor graduate students and foster a collaborative research environment.
- Manage multiple research projects and engage with sponsors.
- Prepare research reports and proposals.
- Develop and integrate computational tools for aeroacoustics, combining acoustic, aerodynamic, and flight-dynamics codes.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field by the hire date.
- Expertise in computational aeroacoustics, rotorcraft aerodynamics, flight simulation, or AAM noise modeling.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++, Python, and simulation tools like CHARM and PSU-WOPWOP.
