About the Role
The Assistant Controller will play a key role in strengthening financial operations by supporting accurate reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This position will assist in managing the accounting function and contribute to strategic finance initiatives in a rapidly scaling environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support the execution of month-end and year-end close activities
- Collaborate on internal and external audit coordination
- Help maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Work cross-functionally with operational teams to ensure proper financial tracking
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Assist in cash flow analysis and reporting
- Support tax preparation processes and filings
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
- Implement and improve internal controls over financial reporting
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly
- Utilize ERP systems to record and track financial data
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls where applicable
- Assist in investor reporting and financial presentations
- Track and report on key financial metrics
- Support special projects related to finance transformation
- Maintain strong vendor and partner relationships
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations
- Contribute to process improvements in financial operations
- Assist with payroll and related accruals
- Provide support during due diligence for funding or partnership activities
