Mayer Brown LLP is seeking a senior technical leader for the role of Architect: Risk, Marketing and Admin Systems. You will join the Business Solutions Delivery organization, architecting and building solutions that support productivity, collaboration, and uniformity for the firm's Business Services groups. This role focuses on enterprise applications, data integration, and cloud platforms to meet the firm's evolving technology needs.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary technical decision-maker for assigned initiatives, defining scope and architecture for complex business application solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise business applications with expertise in cloud deployments and scalable architectures.
- Architect comprehensive data integration solutions connecting business applications with internal and external systems.
- Lead the design of data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time synchronization using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, APIs, and middleware.
- Implement data validation frameworks and quality monitoring to ensure accuracy across integrated systems.
- Partner with management on code reviews, deployment validation, and technical sign-off for production readiness.
- Maintain, enhance, and refactor existing business applications while staying current with emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers and administrators in a DevOps culture to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Develop software in short sprints within an Agile framework, reviewing user stories and providing technical guidance.
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members by reviewing code and guiding architectural decisions.
- Balance individual contribution with leadership, executing development priorities across multiple projects.
- Verify security of third-party vendor applications and collaborate to meet compliance standards.
- Maintain the internal System Catalog with comprehensive documentation of data flows and dependencies.
- Support application business recovery plans, including disaster recovery testing.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to recommend improvements to the team's technical capabilities.
- Represent the team in the IT Architecture Oversight Group, reviewing solution architecture for new technology products.
- Adhere to the Firm's IT Service Delivery standards and champion compliance best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with advancement into senior technical or lead roles.
- Demonstrated experience architecting complex data integration solutions across multiple systems.
- Demonstrated experience with application support, including patching, performance tuning, and log monitoring.
- Proven track record delivering solutions using Agile methodologies and familiarity with other SDLC approaches.
- Proven experience conducting code reviews, evaluating deployment readiness, and mentoring developers.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional IT teams in a DevOps culture.
- Demonstrated ability to excel independently and as part of a team, leading technical initiatives and building consensus.
- Working knowledge of enterprise mobile device and application management (MDM/MAM) using Microsoft Intune.
- 8+ years of development experience with the Microsoft Stack (.NET, ASP.NET, C#, MVVM/MVC, Web APIs, Entity Framework) and SQL Server 2019+, including advanced T-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS.

- Master's degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise applications using modern web technologies, cloud platforms, and the Microsoft stack.
- Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems, virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), network protocols, and infrastructure concepts.
- Proficiency with M365 applications including SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Visio.
- Web development or cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Data-related certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Microsoft Data Platform).
