SMBC Group is hiring an Application Development Assistant Vice President to join our Risk (RMD) Development team. You will work closely with the team and business stakeholders to ensure the Technology stack is fully optimized to meet current requirements, growth demand, and regulatory obligations. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, adaptable software solutions while reducing total cost of ownership.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with the Risk (RMD) Development team and liaise with RMD business stakeholders.
- Promote and deliver high-quality, fast, adaptable, and flexible software solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, productive, and motivating environment.
- Design and develop new software and integrate with vendor systems.
- Participate in on-call rota support and follow established SDLC processes.
- Participate in delivering IT Strategy, risk, and regulatory initiatives.
- Ensure effective and efficient running of Credit and Market Risk systems integrated into the wider SMBC environment.
- Deliver fast-paced agile high-quality software changes and solutions, help run Scrums and Sprints, and create and deploy Releases.
- Provide advice on .Net, .Net Core, C#, and other development tools and languages.
- Perform frequent .Net/C# tasks, including delivering new projects and improving the current setup.
- Promote an enterprise data management and governance design approach delivered through Agile SDLC.
- Deliver regulatory and internal reporting in a resilient and timely manner.
- Collaborate regularly with traders and Desk heads to ensure strategic objectives are met through technology changes.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
- Core development experience with .Net Core and C#.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Strong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing, end to end, the design, definition, and delivery of technical solutions.
- Ability to handle communications at all levels from across the whole business, including Front Office.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing environments and CI/CD.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the financial industry.
- Some business knowledge and experience in risk management.
