At AIS, we are looking for an Application Design Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, engineering, configuring, and commissioning hardware and software for PLC and SCADA systems. You will play a key role in technical project execution, developing solutions and documentation, and conducting testing and training.
What You'll Do
- Design, engineer, configure, and commission hardware and software for PLC and SCADA systems.
- Design, engineer, and validate industrial automation systems, communication networks for local and remote control, and HMI/visualization tools.
- Configure and integrate SCADA systems within industrial plants or substations for monitoring and control.
- Assist in developing project statements of work, including technical and commercial terms, scope, constraints, customer expectations, and risks.
- Prepare technical and commercial offers by understanding and interpreting customer specifications and drawings.
- Participate in technical execution of projects, ensuring compliance with all project technical requirements.
- Design and optimize solutions, develop software applications, hardware designs, and project documentation according to assigned tasks.
- Design and execute quality tests, perform Factory Acceptance Tests, and carry out site commissioning with customers.
- Develop and deliver training for software and hardware solutions used in projects, both in person and through webinars.
- Comply with internal processes and methods in all activities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
- Between 1–4 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or substation projects.
- Hands-on experience with PLC and SCADA configuration.
- Excellent command of English.
- Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel, including international assignments.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with substation automation standards and protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, or IEC 61850.
- Knowledge of Modicon PLC, EPO, and EPAS.
- Experience with substation automation systems.
- Experience with Wonderware System Platform.
- Basic knowledge of a coding language.
- Proficiency in French or Spanish.
