Intetics Inc., a prominent American technological enterprise specializing in custom software development, distributed professional teams, software product quality evaluation, and comprehensive digital solutions, seeks an accomplished Android SDK Developer to implement targeted custom features within the open-source OsmAnd application. The application features accessible documentation for contributors, with the majority of the codebase developed in Java, while routing-related components (minimally impacted) utilize C++. The final product will be utilized internally and does not require public distribution via Google Play. Project Scope We possess a comprehensive list of 7 specific assignments that will be exclusively shared with shortlisted candidates. All tasks involve enhancing or modifying in-app functionality. The project parameters are precisely defined and thoroughly documented. Requirements • 4+ years of professional Android development • Robust Java proficiency • Practical C++ expertise (JNI level acceptable) • Background in navigation or GIS applications (OsmAnd, Maps SDK, map rendering, routing, offline maps) • Capability to navigate open-source codebases • Comprehensive understanding of Android UI and background services • Communication fluency in English or Ukrainian Desirable Qualities • Open-source project contribution experience • Familiarity with NDK, map tile rendering, routing engines • Kotlin knowledge (optional, not project-critical) Engagement Parameters • Fixed-price contract • Complete compensation upon successful task completion • Projected timeline: 1–1.5 months • Non-delivery within 2 months may result in project reassignment • Compact project with well-defined, limited scope • Detailed technical specifications shared exclusively with domain-experienced candidates Progression Initial communication should confirm navigation or GIS application expertise (e.g., offline maps, routing, map SDK integrations).
