About the Role

Bombardier is seeking an Aircraft Structural Dynamics Engineer to play a key role in advancing aircraft design and safety. In this position, you will perform critical aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations, develop finite element models, and contribute to our in-house software tools, directly supporting new aircraft programs and the continued airworthiness of our in-service fleet.

What You'll Do

  • Perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations to support new aircraft design studies and the continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft.
  • Apply engineering judgment to select appropriate methods, techniques, and tools for resolving complex technical issues.
  • Prepare and maintain finite element models for aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analysis.
  • Maintain, develop, and document analysis methods and in-house software.
  • Support and interact with other engineering disciplines, including Advanced Design, Aerodynamics, Structures, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, and Control Laws.
  • Support ground vibration testing (GVT) and flight flutter testing (FFT), and post-process the results.
  • Document analyses and findings in engineering certification reports and presentations in English.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace specialization.
  • Relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Some experience in aeroelasticity and aeroservoelasticity analyses.
  • A good understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamics, control surface actuations, and control laws.
  • Experience with finite element models and analysis.
  • Experience with dynamic system stability and frequency response calculations.
  • Experience programming in Matlab, Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
  • Eligibility to acquire Canadian Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance.
  • Some knowledge of Airworthiness regulations.
  • Good organizational skills for planning work activities, completing tasks within budget and schedule, and working under pressure.
  • Good analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, both written and spoken, in French and English.

Nice to Have

  • A Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace specialization.
  • Higher education would be an asset.
  • Experience with Nastran is an asset.

Work Mode

This role is a hybrid position based at our Administrative Centre in Canada.
