Trane Technologies is seeking motivated AI Interns for our 12-week summer internship program in Summer 2026. As part of our Early Career Program, you will work from our Montreal location on impactful projects that advance AI-driven solutions for the built environment. Interns are placed in one of three key focus areas based on their interests, skills, and business needs: AI Product Management, AI Controls Integration, or AI Analytics.
What You'll Do
- Work on projects within AI Product Management, AI Controls Integration, or AI Analytics, with final placement aligning candidate interests, skills, and business needs.
- In AI Product Management: track, document, and prepare control models and algorithms.
- Automate workflows and optimize internal processes.
- Conduct competitive analysis and gather customer needs to support product strategy.
- Support product commercialization and launch preparation.
- In AI Controls Integration: integrate control systems, map building data, and deploy AI-driven HVAC optimization.
- In AI Analytics: perform energy analysis, evaluate building performance, and identify efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, deployment, and data science teams.
- Contribute to creating documentation, dashboards, reports, and communication materials.
- Test, validate, or deploy AI-based features, depending on assignments.
- Gather information and translate it into clear recommendations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal workflows, product lifecycles, and technical processes.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a similar field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and an interest in starting a career in AI.
- At least one internship or work experience in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through student associations, sports team captaincy, resident advisor roles, or exceptional professional project management experience.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, initiative, and strong motivation to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and dynamic environments.
- Willingness to be mobile and relocate if future opportunities arise.
- Bilingual French-English required. A perfect command of English is essential to support and collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues, and partners.
Nice to Have
- Good knowledge of AI concepts, software development, building systems, or energy technologies.
- Experience with tools such as Python, SQL, Jira, Asana, or equivalents.
- Leadership experience gained through student activities, team projects, or previous professional experiences.

- Hourly compensation of $22.50 to $27.00.
