ING is seeking an AI Developer Advocate to champion the adoption of generative AI tooling within our engineering organization. This role blends hands-on engineering with creating scalable methods to enhance developer experience and reduce friction around AI technologies.
What You'll Do
- Advocate for all developers within ING, ensuring their needs and feedback are heard and addressed.
- Generate adoption for GenAI tooling inside the company.
- Help drive the GenAI Community of Practice.
- Develop and deliver technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, and presentations, to engage and educate the developer community.
- Spend 20 to 40% of your time on engineering to stay connected to the community and understand developer life at ING.
- Find scalable ways to improve the general experience of developers around AI tooling through awareness, training, creating opportunities, advocating for tooling, and reporting feedback.
- Represent ING at industry events, meetups, and conferences.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a developer advocate or backend developer, preferably within ING.
- Practical experience using GenAI tooling, and proficiency with it.
- Knowledge of different GenAI tools, experience trying different models, and understanding the pros and cons of using GenAI for application development.
- Strong technical background in backend development.
- Passion for community building and developer engagement.
- The credibility of a senior engineer.
Technical Stack
- Microsoft stack (GitHub Copilot, Spaces, Copilot CLI, Azure DevOps, …)
Team & Environment
You'll join a small team of 3 developer advocates (backend, frontend and DevOps) working with a community manager. It's a mix of advocates and topic experts, and you'll collaborate with many other product teams, as well as content and education experts.
