Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategies to address component obsolescence using methods such as reverse engineering, repair development, new designs, supplier collaboration, circular economy practices, and make-to-print manufacturing aligned with form, fit, and function requirements.
- Verify that proposed components comply with customer-defined specifications for physical compatibility, performance, reliability, and adherence to industry standards.
- Produce electrical schematics, interface diagrams, and technical documentation for designated systems while meeting project delivery timelines.
- Develop procurement-ready technical specifications and requirements based on customer inputs, applying knowledge of engineering design changes and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
- Acquire in-depth understanding of project requirements related to automated people mover systems and the components under development.
- Lead and coordinate with external suppliers to ensure designs meet customer criteria, serving as a liaison between vendors and end clients to validate technical solutions.
- Stay current with applicable electrical and electronic standards and regulations, including IEEE and ANSI, relevant to automated people mover technologies.
- Generate and maintain technical deliverables such as drawings, bills of materials, work scopes, assembly procedures, and test protocols for parts, equipment, and circuit boards.
- Offer technical assistance and support to customers as needed throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in formal change management processes by engaging with the Change Control Board to review and approve engineering modifications.
- Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including customer representatives, engineering teams, project managers, supply chain, operations, finance, auditors, quality assurance, and testing groups.
