The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) invites applications for faculty positions at the Associate Professor and Assistant Professor ranks within the Aeronautical Engineering Department. This role is central to our student-centered learning environment and commitment to developing graduates who contribute to Qatar’s National Vision 2030. You will be responsible for delivering pedagogically-sound, experiential learning while engaging in applied research and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of courses within Aeronautical Engineering and related diploma, degree, and graduate programs.
- Evaluate student progress and manage learning environment resources, including laboratories and simulations.
- Liaise with industry and other educational institutions and participate in industry advisory committees.
- Coordinate, manage, and supervise final year and capstone projects within the program area.
- Maintain course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes.
- Engage in instructional and new program development.
- Enhance applied research and innovation initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD in Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, Propulsion System, Aircraft Design and Testing, Flight Dynamics and Control, Aircraft Structure) from an internationally recognized and accredited institution.
- A track record of academic excellence from internationally recognized institutions.
- A minimum of five (5) years of academic experience after the PhD.
- A minimum of three (3) years of industrial experience related to the field of study.
- Competency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to apply various teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences, including laboratories, simulation, and practicums.
- Ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
- Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.
- Ability to initiate and conduct independent applied research with the ambition and potential to make significant contributions at national and international levels.
- Demonstrated potential for research impact, professional recognition among peers, and a proven track record in publication.
- Firm plans for generating research income.
- Commitment to applied and experiential learning as a pedagogy.
