Missouri Virtual Academy (MOVA), a K12-powered Stride school, is hiring a 504 Coordinator to manage all aspects of Section 504 programming. In this full-time, remote position, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for students with disabilities while supporting a personalized online education experience.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate and ensure implementation of district-approved Section 504 processes and data collection policies.
- Develop and maintain all Section 504 records, including student plans and eligibility lists.
- Serve as a daily resource to school administrators, leadership, and stakeholders on Section 504 matters.
- Provide ongoing training and support to staff regarding Section 504 implementation and procedures.
- Support teachers in documenting student progress.
- Act as liaison between the school and District for Section 504 issues.
- Collaborate with the special education team to facilitate eligibility evaluations.
- Utilize the student management program to prepare documentation for 504 meetings.
- Stay informed of current state and federal requirements related to Section 504.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree combined with three (3) years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- Understanding of applicable sections of state and federal education laws and pertinent regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, both in-person and electronically.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ability to analyze data to determine steps needed to assist students academically and behaviorally, both collectively and individually.
- Demonstrated use of good judgment in decision-making.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time for in-person testing, meetings, and professional development.
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick and mortar environment.
Nice to Have
- Special Education certification.
- Three (3) years of directly related experience in an online school setting.
