V.Group is seeking a 3rd Officer (Oficial de Náutica) to join our maritime team. This officer is responsible to the Captain and Chief Officer for maintaining critical safety and navigation systems, leading mooring operations, and providing support on the vessel's bridge.
What You'll Do
- Maintain lifesaving equipment, including lifeboats, ensuring permanent readiness per SOLAS requirements.
- Maintain all firefighting equipment, including hoses, breathing apparatus, and extinguishers, ensuring constant readiness per SOLAS.
- Report any deficiencies in lifesaving or firefighting equipment to the Chief Officer.
- Maintain navigation lights, daymarks, flags, halyards, and sound signaling apparatus.
- Maintain a safe navigation bridge as instructed by the Captain.
- Take command of a mooring team.
- Maintain the cargo/port bridge as instructed by the Chief Officer.
- Act as a trainee/substitute for the Second Officer whenever suitable opportunities arise.
- Accompany and train with the Captain for onboard maneuvering, with training recorded and mentioned in evaluation reports.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as instructed by the Captain.
Team & Environment
This role reports to the Captain and Chief Officer.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located on a Vessel.
