Devoted Studios is looking for a 2D Art Director to lead the artistic vision and team for high-profile game development projects. You’ll join a distributed team of over 1,900+ skilled professionals to deliver visually stunning results for our partners.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor the art team, fostering creativity and excellence.
- Ensure the highest quality of art assets, aligning with client and project guidelines.
- Review and polish artwork, providing constructive feedback to elevate the final product.
- Develop clear guidelines, technical requirements, and pitch materials to streamline workflows.
- Collaborate with producers, clients, and vendors to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Evaluate talent, design skill assessments, and align artists with projects that fit their strengths.
- Optimize processes and workflows to drive efficiency and innovation across projects.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years in game art with experience leading a team.
- Shipped 2-3 AAA games (or equivalent high-profile projects) from concept to launch.
- Diverse portfolio showcasing expertise in 2D art.
- Deep understanding of art production pipelines and technical constraints.
- Detail-oriented, results-driven problem solver with a proactive mindset.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to foster collaboration and resolve conflicts.
- Committed to staying updated on industry trends and adopting new tools/techniques.
- Team-focused approach with an emphasis on transparency, mentorship, and support.
Nice to Have
- Previous Art Director or Creative Director experience is a strong plus.
