About the Role
The position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems using Google Cloud Platform, with an emphasis on automation, observability, and operational excellence. The engineer will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of services.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime through proactive monitoring
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across distributed systems
- Develop automation scripts to streamline operational workflows
- Enforce security best practices across cloud environments
- Collaborate with development teams to improve service resilience
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes
- Participate in on-call incident response rotations
- Optimize cloud resource usage and cost efficiency
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Integrate observability tools for logs, metrics, and traces
- Promote infrastructure-as-code practices using configuration management tools
- Contribute to post-incident reviews and remediation planning
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
Nice to Have
- Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer certification
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments
- Background in agile or DevOps-driven organizations
- Contributions to open-source projects related to cloud tools
- Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio
