Responsibilities
- Acts as a subject matter expert for material handling technologies and contributes to evaluating options for new IT-driven initiatives
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of both commercial and custom-built IT applications, infrastructure, and operations, particularly in warehouse and logistics automation
- Integrates material handling systems within multi-channel distribution environments
- Designs and evaluates software solutions for highly complex or interconnected business challenges within project frameworks
- Delivers software components for complex, cross-system or cross-project business requirements
- Guides external material handling equipment vendors in defining technical requirements and development activities
- Provides technical guidance to team members during feature and component development
- Analyzes project requirements and solution designs to ensure material handling systems are functionally valid, technically robust, and properly integrated
- Supports the Cross Channel Logistics Optimization initiative to enable unified fulfillment from shared distribution centers
- Serves as a technical authority for material handling systems during proposal development for new IT capabilities
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of warehouse management, control, and automation systems including conveyors, packing, storage, and sorting equipment
- Implements integrated material handling solutions in multi-channel fulfillment operations
