Boeing Australia is seeking a Wire Design & Install Design Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join the P-8 Modification Program in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will design and implement wire design and installation changes, troubleshoot wiring discrepancies on aircraft, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. This position is part of Boeing Global Services (BGS) Engineering, supporting aftermarket modifications to enable the future of aerospace.
What You'll Do
- Work with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and other Engineering groups to assess and implement wire design and installation changes.
- Create Production Action Requests (PARs) in EWITS as required.
- Ensure PARs provide all pertinent information for the customer and follow-on commodities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in wiring diagrams and between wiring diagrams and functional schematics to ensure design accuracy and system alignment.
- Diagnose and resolve test failures related to wire routing, signal integrity, or electrical connectivity.
- Perform on-aircraft investigations to support troubleshooting of wiring discrepancies, including connector pinouts, harness damage, continuity faults, and configuration mismatches.
- Coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate and implement corrective actions for discovered wiring issues.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 2+ years of experience with wire design drawings including system interconnects, wire routing, and equipment installation drawings.
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience working with mechanics or on the shop floor for troubleshooting.
- Experience with P-8 or 737 aircraft.
- Proven knowledge of various data bus types, bend radius requirements, and fiber optics.
- Experience in design from initial requirements through final installation.
