AECOM is hiring a Wildlife Biologist - Field focused (on-call)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field assessments to locate and document protected wildlife species and their habitats.
  • Perform on-site evaluations to identify water-dependent ecosystems, including seasonal wetlands.
  • Draft concise reports summarizing findings from field investigations.
  • Carry out pre-construction inspections to detect threatened plant and animal species, including active bird nests.
  • Lead environmental training sessions for construction crews to promote regulatory compliance.
  • Observe ongoing construction to ensure adherence to environmental permits and regulations, coordinating with project stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily records detailing field activities and compliance outcomes.
  • Collaborate as a contributing member of the environmental planning and permitting team in California.
  • Travel regularly between Sacramento and Bakersfield for project assignments, including short-term and overnight trips.
