Responsibilities
- Maintain high inventory productivity and efficiency
- Direct and oversee inventory processes to meet customer deadlines
- Maintain staffing levels for effective and efficient receiving operations
- Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of receiving associates
- Ensure inventory associates can safely operate material handling equipment to move materials
- Develop crew leaders to effectively oversee daily routines of assigned crew members
- Maintain equipment structure and levels for safe and effective shipping operations
- Assist in resolving discrepancies with zeroed and skipped products
- Monitor paperwork flow from inventory controls to shipping for timely data entry
- Assist in training new associates
- Maintain excellent cross-functional and interdepartmental communication
- Assist receiving and inventory supervisors in navigating and prioritizing incoming products
- Monitor systems and emails frequently to ensure customer satisfaction
- Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Lead and supervise a team of inventory agents
- Counsel, record, and discipline shipping associates as necessary
- Maintain a meticulous standard for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the shipping department
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
- Maintain and ensure 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed routinely
- Maintain and promote workplace safety
- Secure and transfer cash or other assets
Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends
- 2-3 years of hands-on supervisory experience required
- 1 year of inventory experience
- Supervisory experience and team building
- Experience with WMS/inventory management system and RF technology
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to dynamic order flow fluctuations as needed
- Must be a self-starter with ability to identify areas lagging in production and proactively act to get back on track
- Experience in tracking metrics, including key performance indicators such as team member productivity
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Outstanding customer relations skills
- Strong skills and experience in team/personnel management
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated drive to achieve results
- Ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for up to 10 hours, squat, bend, reach, and climb and descend stairs safely (applies to locations with stairs)
- Ability to operate powered equipment (forklift, cherry picker, etc.)
