About the Role

As VP of People at Honeycomb, you will be the executive responsible for translating our people philosophy into operational reality and scaling our people systems and programs. You will align strong leaders, drive organizational clarity, and build a high-performing leadership culture across our fully distributed team as we scale.

What You'll Do

  • Translate Honeycomb’s people philosophy into simple, scalable programs (performance, pay, growth) that create clarity and unlock speed as we scale.
  • Align strong, opinionated leaders across the org by bringing crisp communication, courageous candor, and decisive prioritization to ambiguous or emotionally charged issues.
  • Anticipate organizational needs and 'see around corners'—driving alignment with the CEO and E-Staff on the few things that matter most.
  • Build a high-performing leadership culture by elevating manager capability, strengthening talent visibility, and developing leaders of leaders.
  • Drive org-wide clarity by connecting People strategy directly to business outcomes, ensuring systems, processes, and programs enable our 2026 growth plan.
  • Balance speed with scale—build what we need now while laying durable foundations that won’t slow the business down later.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive culture of trust, honest dialogue, and healthy conflict across a fully distributed team.
  • Make strategic tradeoffs with a 'Honeycomb-first' mindset, simplifying where possible and applying a rigorous ROI lens to systems, vendors, and investments.
  • Serve as a visible executive leader who models our values and communicates in ways that anchor alignment across geographies, teams, and levels.
  • Guide the People Team to operate as strategic partners and strong operators who bring clarity, insight, and momentum to the business.

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of progressive HR/People leadership experience.
  • Executive-level experience in a scaling SaaS or technology company.
  • Proven record of designing and implementing performance, compensation, and org design frameworks that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep fluency across People disciplines—Org Design, Talent Strategy, Employee Relations, and People Ops.
  • Experience leading distributed, remote-first teams with global scope.
  • Strength in change management, organizational design and transformation at the company level.
  • Strong business acumen with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to operate with high EQ, low ego, and strong bias for action.

Team & Environment

This is an Executive role, part of the E-Staff and reporting to the CEO. You will lead the People Team at a company that has scaled past the 200-person mark.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $245,000 - $285,000 USD.
  • Generous equity with employee-friendly stock program.
  • Unlimited PTO and paid sabbatical.

  • Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents.
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood.
