The VP, Business Development, North Asia will lead Circle's ecosystem expansion through strategic partnerships and market enablement in North Asia. This role involves driving go-to-market strategy, regulatory engagement, partnership development, and building a high-performing business development team aligned with global objectives.
What You'll Do
- Build and expand Circle’s ecosystem through strategic partnerships and market enablement in North Asia
- Drive Circle’s go-to-market strategy in the region by identifying opportunities for ecosystem expansion
- Localize engagement efforts to ensure successful market entry and operational readiness
- Lead proactive engagement with regulators, policymakers, and legal counsel to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape
- Ensure Circle’s activities align with local compliance requirements
- Foster open dialogue and collaboration with key government and industry stakeholders
- Own OKRs and be responsible for developing the partnership pipeline
- Qualify partners and close deals with strategic and target partners
- Work closely with Circle leadership and cross-functional (XFN) teams
- Provide insight into Web3 policy developments, market trends, partner demands, and resource investment areas
- Build a metrics-driven, high-velocity business
- Delight prospects and ensure their long-term success as Circle customers, partners, and ecosystem participants
- Hire, train, mentor, and build a world-class business development and sales organization
- Drive regional strategy and operational readiness
- Ensure alignment with Circle’s global objectives
- Lead and empower business development leaders and cross-functional teams to drive market enablement, ecosystem growth, and ecosystem expansion goals
- Oversee a metrics-driven business, set strategic priorities, forecast performance, and ensure disciplined execution
- Guide engagement on high-impact partnerships, regulatory initiatives, and market development opportunities
What We're Looking For
- 14+ years of leading fintech or technology partnerships and market development
- 8+ years of managing high performing teams
- Experience as a responsible officer of a regulated financial services entity in North Asia / Tier 1 jurisdiction
- Proven experience engaging with regulators and policymakers to advance compliant market entry and sustainable business operations
- Held a senior management role before, and understand the cross-functional relationships required internally and externally to execute successfully
- Business-fluent in Mandarin
- Professional and technical knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology
- Exceptional leadership experience with proven ability to hire, retain, and motivate employees
- Excellent pipeline management and revenue forecasting abilities
- Ready to Travel: regular travel (up to 50%) to external events and to meeting partners, regulators, and customers across the Asia region should be expected
