Responsibilities
- Complete assigned disease state and product training within required timeframes to develop a thorough understanding of the market, disease state, clinical information, and core selling messages.
- Deliver review committee-approved educational messages and disease-state information for the assigned therapeutic area to selected healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with existing Vertex employees to develop and execute business plans.
- Increase healthcare professional awareness of Vertex Pharmaceuticals products and clinical data.
- Provide healthcare professionals with appropriate tools to facilitate robust clinical conversations and enable patient education about the assigned therapeutic area.
- Build healthcare professional trust, knowledge, and confidence in identifying possible treatment gaps in appropriate patient groups.
- Raise awareness of the assigned therapeutic area and empower healthcare professionals to identify treatment gaps in diagnosed patients.
- Achieve call activity and adherence goals, as well as brand performance objectives set by the client.
- Ensure accurate generation of sample and literature requests, and perform appropriate follow-up and investigation on product shipments as needed.
- Maintain database entries on targeted customer calls, including attempts, product discussions, literature requests, and sample requests.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to team leadership on areas and opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with all company, PDMA, compliance, and regulatory policies and guidelines.
- Work independently from a remote home office.
- Cultivate the assigned virtual territory and be accountable for measurable results.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to learn and communicate on complex medical topics, industry compliance guidelines, Vertex programs, pharmacy, and insurance landscapes.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Polished marketing and commercial acumen.
- Ability to explain features of assigned products and address questions and concerns to ensure appropriate therapeutic use.
- Flexibility regarding job responsibilities, including white space coverage, vacant territory coverage, and partnering with Vertex employees.
