About the Role

The role involves leading financial planning, managing accounting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives. The individual will work closely with executive leadership and external partners to maintain financial health and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of annual budgets and long-term financial plans
  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions
  • Direct cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs
  • Supervise the accounting team and ensure proper internal controls are in place
  • Collaborate with program leaders to align financial resources with strategic goals
  • Evaluate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Support grant and funding compliance, including financial reporting to funders
  • Assist in the preparation of board-level financial presentations and updates
  • Lead financial aspects of new initiatives and organizational expansions
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
  • Ensure proper accounting for complex financing structures and public funds
  • Maintain strong fiscal policies and drive continuous improvement in financial systems
  • Partner with external advisors on tax, audit, and compliance matters
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and receivable functions
  • Support debt and capital financing activities as needed
  • Provide financial insights to support data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funds
  • Lead special financial projects and system implementations
  • Promote a culture of accountability and transparency in financial operations
  • Stay current with changes in nonprofit and public finance regulations
  • Assist in organizational strategic planning with a financial perspective
  • Manage financial components of partnerships and joint ventures
  • Ensure readiness for audits and examinations by regulatory bodies
