Responsibilities
- Conduct and scale usability research, focusing on evaluating shipped features, validating design assumptions, and expanding testing capacity.
- Manage the entire study lifecycle, including recruiting, scoping, analysis, communicating results, and identifying collaboration opportunities.
- Progress from testing others' ideas to owning research direction for one or more product areas.
- Coach designers and product managers on study design, reviewing approaches for clear signals, and helping interpret results and decide next steps.
- Create reusable enablement assets such as templates, reference guides, and research workflows to scale support.
- Maintain and improve the research library by standardizing documentation, organizing tags and projects, and ensuring past research is findable and useful.
- Manage the research tool stack, including tools, templates, guides, and resources that enable non-stakeholders to engage in or conduct limited research.
- Collaborate with staff and other researchers to review continuous feedback and ensure issues are tracked by relevant product development pods.
- Manage the participant panel by maintaining list quality, handling invitations, cleaning up between projects, processing compensation, filing receipts, and tracking budget utilization.
- Handle vendor renewals and procurement coordination, working with legal, finance, and senior researchers to keep contracts current and paperwork moving.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UX research or a related applied research field.
- Strong usability testing skills across qualitative and experimental approaches.
- Proficiency in survey design and ability to learn and deploy higher-precision quantitative methods as needed.
- Solid grounding in structured and semi-structured qualitative interviewing.
- Mixed-methods fluency, able to move between qualitative and quantitative approaches and know when each is appropriate.
- Clear, effective communicator who can tailor research findings for different audiences and advocate for insights in cross-functional settings.
- Experience independently managing research logistics, including recruiting, scheduling, compensation, and study operations.
- Experience working in developer tooling, enterprise, security, or networking.
