Methods Business and Digital Technology is seeking a permanent User Researcher to join us in understanding and championing the user. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping government services by embedding user-centered design at their core. You'll work collaboratively to ensure user needs are not just heard but are the driving force behind product development.
What You'll Do
- Champion the user within project teams and the wider organization.
- Plan and conduct user research, including developing recruitment briefs and analyzing and presenting findings.
- Collaborate with the product team to turn research findings into prototypes and features that meet the user need.
- Present research findings, user insight, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Promote user-centered design principles and best practice within government.
- Design, script, and analyze quantitative surveys.
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative research projects such as proposition development, visual identity, and customer experience mapping.
- Apply knowledge in human factors, ethnography, and the user-centered design process to product and service design.
- Manage day-to-day operations with usability and market research agencies with accountability for schedules, value for money, and deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge, experience, and passion for user-centered design practices and GDS guidelines.
- Hands-on experience undertaking user research and gathering user requirements.
- Proven experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams, including with designers and developers to build digital products and services.
- Confidence in developing user personas and journey maps.

- Experience working specifically in an agile environment.
- A track record of advocating for fully accessible and inclusive services.
- A proactive approach to addressing environmental issues, embedding environmental responsibility in practices, and encouraging innovative solutions within client work.
