Optum Tech, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a senior User Experience Manager to play a pivotal role in elevating the quality and consistency of the Specialty Provider digital experience. You will deliver design artifacts across the portfolio and function as the subject matter expert in this space.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product management, other designers, data and analytics, and engineering in discovery or requirements gathering sessions
- Translate partner goals into multiple creative solutions
- Design experiences based on analytics, user research, and best practices
- Embrace feedback as part of the creative process
- Learn and work within established brand guidelines and the design pattern library
- Provide final layout, font, colors, and padding/spacing rules that align with the Optum brand, sourcing necessary images, icons, or videos
- Clearly articulate the problem being solved, user access, and progression when presenting
- Manage timelines, milestones, and internal processes on feature work to ensure timely delivery
- Serve as the subject matter expert on the project across different portals, surfaces, and channels
- Partner with the research team to prep and build prototypes for user testing
- Serve as a mentor to other designers
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience designing web responsive experiences
- 3+ years of experience designing in Figma and the ability to create a prototype to demo the experience
- Expert-level understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices, including design pattern libraries and design documentation
- Proficient in using Figma to document designs and create prototypes
- Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices
