JLL is hiring a Union Journeyman Technician to ensure the continuous, reliable operation of all critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure within a data center environment. Your primary focus will be on maintaining 100% uptime through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and expert problem resolution.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on all building systems to ensure 100% uptime, including fire/life safety and electrical systems like UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, and primary switchgear.
- Monitor and adjust electrical systems associated with refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, boilers, ventilating systems, water heaters, pumps, and valves.
- Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
- Analyze the operation of various electrical systems, determine the cause of problems, and take corrective action.
- Comply with policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Learn the data center site to effectively manage incidents and events that risk critical systems.
- Manage work orders, including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
- Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
- Perform additional job duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience working in a data center or critical facility.
- Hands-on experience with critical building systems, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Corrigo or similar CMMS platforms.
- Training in NFPA70E.
